Intel's recent announcement of data centers and industrial use for DC P3608 solid state drive, has a 4TB capacity while providing continuous read speed up to 5GB/s, making it the fastest solid state drive in the history of mankind, it is clear that this SSD is not aimed at consumers, but for databases and real-time analysis purposes.
Intel built two NVMe DC P3608 SSD controller and 20-nanometer manufacturing technology of high durability of multi-level cell NAND Flash memory, NVMe command processing speed is a common product twice, so it can better allocate input/output data for multiple core processors. Intel provides a full range of data protection for this product, all internal and external storage devices support ECC.
DC P3608 Intel solid state drives have 1.6TB,3.2TB and 4TB storage capacity, the maximum read/write speed of 5000MB/s and 3000MB/s, applies only to the 4TB version. Version 1.6TB reading/writing speed is 5GB/s and version 2GB/s,3.2TB reading/writing speed is 4.5GB/s and 2.6GB/s respectively. Three versions can be as high as 850,000 IOPS reads and writes 50,000 IOPS, they use PCI Express x8, NVMe compatible protocols can be used with any modern server.
In terms of price, DC P3608 1.6TB price $ 3509 (€ 3138), DC P3608 3.2TB sells for $ 7009 (€ 6269), and top DC P3608 4TB sells for $ 8759 (€ 7835).
